I would highly recommend this company to any instructors, band directors, or literally anyone interested in learning about the leadership aspect of color guard and how to effectively create, organize, and run a guard program! From very informative videos, plentiful resources, and help from the amazing staff, this company really made a difference in my first year with my new program! I found Evoke at the end of last school year (May 2023) and knew I needed and wanted help to make my coaching better. I was in guard through college, many years ago, and we did not have a Winter Guard. I knew that in order to help my team, I would need to get some training. Evoke was an amazing find for me. That summer, I attended a virtual training in which Monica went over all of the judge sheets and helped tremendously with what judges were looking for. There were classes on designing shows, planning lessons, how to create a competitive program, techniques, musicality, fundraising, and music choice. Not only did Summer Camp help with guard knowledge, it also enabled me to meet other guard instructors who have provided a ton of support throughout this school year.

When joining Evoke, Monica provided me with a multitude of resources that will help me teach various skills for a variety of equipment as well as body movements. There are so many resources that include videos that break down each move for any equipment as well as dance instruction. These have helped greatly as I can now break down moves for my own team and new members. I’ve learned an enormous amount about various skills that I can now help my team with.

I feel that Evoke not only gave me a great opportunity to learn about what is required by judges and what they are looking for in our routines, but it also gave me the opportunity to meet some incredible people who are always there to help support me in all ways.

For next school year, I am entrusting Monica and Evoke to choreograph both our field routines and our winter guard routine. I am confident that through this opportunity, I will be able to continue to grow as a guard coach and enable my team members to achieve their potential in guard as well. I feel that this will help our team become more competitive and confident in their abilities, routines, and growth.

I started working with Monica by a happy accident. I was venting about the score sheets and vocabulary used and asking for help. Monica jumped in with a great attitude and amazing advice. We soon started video conferences and she introduced me to Evoke. I spent some time learning from her and the Evoke team over the summer. I gained a much better understanding of the vocabulary and what was expected of me as a director. We then hired Evoke to train virtually our 2023 Winterguard for our Welcome to the Disco show.

I was extremely impressed with the google classroom content posted but even more so with the one on one interactions between myself, the Evoke trainers and my performers. When we had questions they would remote call in and talk to us all guiding us through the process in a manageable and efficient way. My team grew to respect the Evoke crew and absolutely adore Monica. They truly felt she was an integral part of their lives and training. I did as well. The best part for me was her watching the performance and listening to the judge commentary with me and my captains explaining what they meant and giving us real life examples to look at and learn from to make the language of this sport more concrete. We had an amazing season due to our Evoke team and a welcomed surprise when Monica made our girls disco themed friendship bracelets for our last show. They cherished these and they looked great with our costumes. We learned a lot of valuable techniques and a better understanding of the judges expectations and score sheets. We applied this knowledge to create our 2024 competitive show Heartstrings Unraveling. WE hired Evoke for drill and aid but were able to do a large amount on our own due to the training and guidance from the previous season.

It was also an amazing experience and I will forever be grateful that Monica found me that day just venting away and pulled me out of the chaos that you experience as a brand new director of this amazing sport of the arts we call Winterguard. I cant wait to see where they help us go in our next season and look forward to the many more performances that we create together.
