Tim Miller
Tim is a very upbeat and positive person that just loves to perform. He has performed with Fusion Winterguard (MI) in 2016, and Resurgence Winterguard in 2017, both under the direction of Monica Drohan. He also helped write the choreography for the Henry Ford II color guard, alongside Monica Drohan, for the 2017 and 2018 season. Along with color guard, Tim loves to act and has been in MANY plays and musicals. Even though he hasn’t done anything color guard related in a while, it has never left his mind… or his social media feed
Lauren Hickman
Hello, my name is Lauren Hickman and I am currently a student at Oakland University. I am an elementary education major with a math endorsement. My goal when I graduate is to be a middle school math teacher. I spun for 4 years on the color guard at my high school and I have also spun 4 years of independent winter guard. My current experience with teaching guard is 2 years of color guard at a high school and this summer will be my third year. This winter, I also instructed a guard that was part of the visual performance for a drum line group. Something about me is that I prefer movies over T.V. shows and that I love to read. What makes me a dreamer is that tomorrow is always a new day and that it is okay for dreams to change because the future may hold something different than you originally planned on.
Sam Seger
Sam has been dancing really for all their life, though they have been trained for about 12 years now. Their journey in movement began in the first grade at a local studio called Michigan Dance Center. There they performed ballet, ballet en pointe, and tap! Their time at this studio was unfortunately cut short due to the director relocating out of state. It was a few years following the closing of MDC that they were introduced to the world of color guard! Their ongoing journey in color guard all began in Linden Wings Too, which was the student led junior guard that Linden Wings offered. Their experience learning what color guard had to offer gave them an insatiable hunger to learn more. They then went on to march 2 seasons with the Linden High School marching band and one year with Wings. After Wings, they still had the drive to learn more and more, and that is when they really pushed themselves by going to spin with Ovation winter guard. Originally, they were contracted to spin on Ovation’s A-class team. The A-class team eventually folded, so everyone had to re audition. Then they made the Open class team! It was the family that Sam had built there that had really pushed them to seek even more knowledge, which is how they ended up at Legends Drum and Bugle Corps in 2019. They had plans to return to Legends in 2020, but we all know what happened. In a post-pandemic world, the Linden Wings winter guard program was trying to rebuild. In that effort, Sam was asked to come in and assist with running the program. They helped design and choreograph a show for the kids to perform at a single exhibition. It was then that their journey with teaching really started. They have been working with Linden Wings for 3, going on 4 years now as a director! Recently, they have also been brought on staff by the Lapeer high school marching band! There they are designing, choreographing, and working one on one with the students. Their top priority is to provide a safe space to encourage discovery. If they are not out enjoying nature, Sam can be found at the gym practicing yoga. Maintaining mobility and encouraging longevity to these kids is of the utmost importance to them. They are SO excited to be a part of this amazing community and journey!.
Danielle Tatoris
Danielle began dancing at 6 years old at Raedene’s Dancin Stars Studio (Macomb, MI), where she acquired 12 years of Jazz and 6 years of Pom. In grade school, Danielle participated in band as a flute and in choir as an alto; this is where her love for the performing arts started.
In high school, she took a year of Ballet and Jazz at Manda’s Rhythm & Dance (Clinton Township, MI). She went on to broaden her range of performing arts skills by participating in musicals at Chippewa Valley High School (Legally Blonde, Hairspray, and Bye-Bye Birdie). In the musicals you could find her as a
background character, but this is where she learned every part is just as important as the lead characters!
The biggest impact on her performing arts career was during 2015- her Senior year- at Chippewa Valley High School, where she joined color guard and made Chippewa’s Varsity Winterguard. In 2016-2017, she participated in Oakland University’s Fall Guard. From 2016-2018, she spun with Ovation in Independent A Class, and in 2019 in Independent Open class, also with Ovation. She spun with Interplay Winterguard in Independent World Class in 2020.
Along with Danielle’s experiences in the performing arts, she also coached at Cutting Edge Athletics as a gymnastics and dance coach. As a gymnastics coach she taught level 1-3 gymnastics on: floor, beam, bars, and trampoline for 4 years. For dance, she taught Creative Movement, Mini Pom, Beginner Pom,
and Beginner Jazz for 2 years.
Currently, you can find Danielle coaching color guard at L’Anse Creuse North High School. Outside of the performing arts, you can find her doing CrossFit or playing volleyball with friends.
